Christian Zionism is a belief system that emphasizes the Old Testament over the New Testament.   

In the OT, God gave the Hebrew people the land of Canaan (present day Israel/Palestine).  They lost the land in 70 AD when Titus destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. 

Modern day Christian Zionists, who are mostly American Evangelicals, believe Jesus cannot return at His 2ND Coming until Jews are back in the land.  They have no sympathy for the Palestinians and agree with the Israeli push for ethnic cleansing.        

Is this taught in the NT?  No.  Instead, Jesus urged His disciples to spread the Godspell of His salvation to the entire world.  Under His Lordship, Jews and Gentiles who accept Him are part of New Covenant Israel.

God promised to bless Abraham in Genesis 12.  And Abraham's greatest blessing was to have Jesus as a descendant.  The Apostle Paul in Galatians 3: 29 says, "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."  Christians, therefore, are the true, spiritual children of Abraham.

American Evangelicals need to abandon Christian Zionism and return to preaching the Good News of Jesus.
